The longest of the routes Jimmy Coogin showed me yesterday involved a 12km stretch to reach a town 6km from Ballaghaderreen, but that route was also closest to what will eventually be the “proper” route and follows much more pedestrian friendly roads than the direct route, so. Round about we went. Fortunately the route was also fairly pretty.

It was shortly after I came in view of the mountain above (which I think may be rumored to contain Queen Mebh’s tomb??? In which case I better watch out for the gentry tomorrow) that I finally reached the spot I had been thinking to maybe take lunch since my little drive with Jimmy Coogin yesterday… (more in next post)
